Our Values

Grenaa Gymnasium’s basic values are

Mutual Respect

Amongst other things Mutual Respect is about taking each other seriously. You can expect good committed teaching from us, a proper working environment, and genuine co-determination, for example via the Student Board and the actual teaching.

In return we expect you to be motivated, responsible and considerate towards others. We also expect you to take part in the community, even though we rate individuality highly.

Competence

Competence is about you developing from a pupil to a student while you are with us. You should not only reach a high academic level but should also be able to use your knowledge in practice. This is closely linked to our Vision of wishing to teach you curiosity and a desire to learn the subject material.

We aim at a creative approach to teaching so that you are prepared to break patterns and limits, and we are open to untraditional approaches and methods which can accommodate a larger number of types of student than the strictly theoretical approaches.

Reflection

Reflection is about you being aware of how best you can learn. In this way we can ensure that you know how to attain the competences required for further study enabling you to become good at studying.

This demands that you together with your fellow students and your teachers continuously reflect upon what you have learned and why. One way this is achieved is via evaluating yourself and the teaching.
